TOKYO — Sakana AI and Daiwa Securities began production development of an AI agent system for wealth-management consulting on August 1, nine months after signing a partnership to test the technology on market data collection and analysis.

The verification phase showed that Sakana’s AI agent techniques, including its “AI Scientist” and “AB-MCTS” systems, can support securities business processes and improve efficiency and quality, according to the August 5 announcement. The companies also validated a feedback loop allowing the AI to refine its analytical output based on user input.

Daiwa, part of Daiwa Securities Group, will now deploy the technology to assist financial advisors with client proposal workflows. No timeline for internal rollout was disclosed. Neither company provided financial terms.

Japan’s retail investment market is expanding as households shift savings into equities and funds, raising demand for personalized advisory services. AI tools that handle information synthesis could free advisors to spend more time with clients; a staffing advantage as the workforce ages.
